What is Resort Casual?

Resort casual (or "resort wear") is a dress code associated with vacation destinations and tropical climates. It's slightly dressier than everyday casual but appropriate for warm weather and relaxed settings. For women, sundresses, linen pants with nice tops, maxi skirts, or elegant shorts with blouses fit the bill. For men, linen shirts, nice shorts or lightweight chinos, and polo shirts work well. Resort casual is common for destination wedding welcome parties, cruise ship dinners, and resort restaurant dress codes. The emphasis is on looking polished while staying cool and comfortable.
